Firm History
With California roots dating back to 1852, Weintraub Tobin currently has over 80 attorneys across 5 California locations, practicing in more than 40 areas of civil law. The Firm’s Sacramento story began in 1978 when four attorneys formed Weintraub Genshlea Gianonni & Sproul. By 2012, the Firm had grown to 35 attorneys with strong transactional and business litigation practices and was known as Weintraub Genshlea Chediak. As client businesses and legal needs grew, the Firm embarked on a strategic plan of expanding both practices and geographic footprint.
Over the next few years, the Firm merged with Tobin & Tobin, a venerable San Francisco firm with a strong banking practice, creating a Bay Area location; Weissmann Wolff, a transactional entertainment and business litigation firm, creating a Los Angeles location; and Waldron & Bragg, a boutique litigation firm in Newport Beach, creating an Orange County location. The Firm added to its intellectual property and patent practices by opening a San Diego location in 2015. The Firm has grown and thrived, integrating practices and strengths. As part of the mergers, the Firm adopted the trade name Weintraub Tobin and the full legal name of Weintraub Tobin Chediak Coleman Grodin Law Corporation.
To better assist clients as their businesses expanded to encompass nationwide and global matters, Weintraub joined the Meritas Legal Network, connecting the Firm and its clients to the knowledge, skill, and expertise of more than 7,500 attorneys at 190 high-level law firms across the country and around the world.
