WT Deals: Universal International Studios and Fuzzy Door Set to Develop TV Adaptation of Matt Dinniman‘s Novel ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’

The popular indie novel Dungeon Crawler Carl by Weintraub client Matt Dinniman is set to be adapted into a TV series by Universal International Studios and Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door.

The novel, which was originally self-published and has sold over a million copies, tells the story of a Coast Guard vet, Carl, forced to fight for his life in a sadistic futuristic world where aliens have wiped out most of humanity. Five sequels and a recent publishing deal with Penguin Random House have followed, including a hardcover release of the novel slated for August 27, 2024. Chris Yost, known for writing The Mandalorian and Thor: Ragnarok, is set to adapt the book for TV.

Dinniman is represented by Weintraub shareholder Matt Sugarman.
