WT Deals: ND Stevenson’s ‘Nimona’ Picked up by Netflix and Annapurna Pictures
Published: April 12, 2022
The animated adaptation of ND Stevenson’s bestselling graphic novel Nimona has been picked up by Netflix and Annapurna Pictures.
The film was originally under production and set to release this year from Blue Sky Studios, a division of then 20th Century Fox. The film was canceled, however, after Fox was acquired by Disney and Blue Sky Studios shut down in 2021. Netflix has partnered with Annapurna Pictures to continue production on the film and plans to release it in 2023.
Nimona is being produced by Karen Ryan, Roy Lee, and Julie Zackary. Megan Ellison, Robert L. Baird, and Andrew Millstein are executive producing, and Nick Bruno and Troy Quane are directing.
Author ND Stevenson is represented by Matt Sugarman.
